Singapore Lah! (part 2)

This is the overdue continuation of my overdue entry re my SG trip.

I just recovered (again!) from a week-long sickness. I had amoebiasis and had been throwing up and flushing out all liquids and solids from my now frail (and badly beaten) pregnant body. My pregnancy during this first trimester is becoming a series of unfortunate events.

Anyways, let’s talk more about my Baudelaire fate in another entry. For the sake of my BITIN friends, let me wrap up my SG kwento. However, my recent illness had not only sucked out all my physical liveliness, but my creative juices as well. I had been trying to convert my journal bullet points to paragraphs for thirty minutes now, to no avail.

So let’s just make this a sort of visual (with short captions) story.

One afternoon, I returned early to my hotel room after my workshop. The doorbell rang and entered a local hotel crew.

Crew: “Good Afternoon Ma’am. MAY I CLOSE YOUR CURTAINS?”
Emi: “HU-WAT?!!?”
Crew (patiently repeated): “May I close your curtains ma’am?”
Emi (thought bubble): “Well, I can do that myself, but if it will please you greatly, then go ahead!”
Emi: “uhmmm…sure!”

The Curtain Administrator smiled and proceeded on closing all the curtains, and then left (evidently to go close other room’s curtains as well) happily. I still want to enjoy the sunset….so I opened my curtains again afterwards. Talk about job empowerment.

Lisa and I at the Night Safari (the world's first wildlife park with a night view). We watched the Creatures of the Night (Animal) Show then took the 3.2 km tram ride to see all the nocturnal animals across the dense secondary forest whose landscape dramatically changes from that of the Himalayan foothills to the jungles of Southeast Asia and Africa. The latter was such a fun and relaxing ride!

We watched Finding Neverland in this cool movie theater (Golden Village) where all the seats are Lazyboys, complete with blankets and a mini table for your (popcorn) orders. Totally a luxurious and ultimate cinema experience (c/o Citibank Gold Class)!

Gong Xi Fa Chai!!!! A trip to SG's Chinatown.

Lisa said the cable car ride is only 5 minutes and is faster than the bus ride to Sentosa Island. SHE LIED!!!! The trip to Mt. Faber side alone is more than five minutes!!! This ride is scarier than the one in Ocean Park in HK. At least sa OP, you get to enjoy the mountain and ocean view. Here you get to see the solid highway below, where if misfortune strikes, you will end up when you fall!

The Mighty Merlion. A majesctic background while watching the Magical Sentosa Show at the Musical Fountain.

Sentosa’s official mascot. Intriguing name for a monkey, don't you think. ;)

AT LAST!!!! So long Singa Pura. Can't wait to see my beybi again.
