I just finished reading the Sunday paper (I called in sick today – and yes Jojo! I am really and genuinely feeling under the weather today, but that won’t keep me from posting a blog, hehehe!).
And there I found out my favorite artist of all time had already changed her name from Madonna to ESTHER!!! (gosh, what a great fan I was!) She had converted to Kaballah (a study of Jewish mysticism) and had been using Jewish symbols and Hebrew letters in her music videos (I have to start watching her videos again to see those!). The article also said that she “had been rarely seen without the trademark red string around her wrist to ward off the evil eye”.
Wow! Re-invention indeed. But if there is anyone in this world who is an authority in re-inventing oneself, i believe it is Madonna. She had been a pop icon already when I was still in elementary (during the good old “Material Girl” days) and she is STILL the TOP pop icon now (after twenty years) collaborating with other pop idols like Britney. From sex diva to cowboy girl to geisha-looking to singing movie actress to blooming bride to doting mother to children’s book author to jewish girl, you name it, she’ve done it. Truly a woman on a league of her own. The master of self reinvention.
From Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone to Esther. Esther from the Persian name Satarah, meaning “star”. How appropriate.
So let's see.

Prince to The Artist Formerly known as Prince and now back to Prince, formerly known as the Artist Formerly known as Prince.
Puff Daddy to P. Diddy.
Madonna to Esther.
So who’s next?

Hmmm….I have a strong feeling this change of name trend will flow to the local movie industry as well. Let’s just wait and see.

I guess it's consistent. All the reviews I've heard had the word 'sleep' in it.
Silly me. I meant that comment for the Lea post
Ana Maceda to Rosanna Roces!
